The GAME.EUS Video Game Campus Opens Pre-registration for Its 6th Edition and Showcases Two Projects Accelerated This Year to Industry Professionals

-All those interested in participating in this intensive program can submit their applications starting today until February 15 to be part of the 2025 edition, which will once again take place in Vitoria-Gasteiz.

-The GAME.EUS video game accelerator campus will be present this week at the Big Conference in Bilbao, the largest video game industry event in northern Spain, showcasing and demonstrating two of the accelerated projects from the last edition.

The GAME.EUS video game accelerator campus is opening the pre-registration period for its 6th edition today, which will once again take place in Vitoria-Gasteiz. Until February 15, anyone interested in accelerating their video game project can submit their application to join the next edition, which will run from June 10 to July 23, 2025.

This “kick-off” coincides with GAME.EUS’s participation in the BIG Conference—the largest video game industry event in northern Spain, held on December 6 and 7 in Bilbao—to promote this program. At the event, two of the accelerated projects from the last edition will also be showcased to the sector’s audience.

“We are starting to promote the next edition of GAME.EUS in the best possible setting: the BIG Conference, a key festival for the main players and professionals in the video game industry, where we will practically showcase the best of this campus,” explains David Darnés, director of GAME.EUS.

GAME.EUS will share a stand with the University of EUNEIZ, the host institution for this campus, managed through its Foundation and the only academic institution offering official university degrees in video games in the Basque Country. In addition to providing information about the acceleration program—which this year has been extended by one week—attendees will be able to try two of the five games accelerated during the last edition. Specifically, these are the projects “Detective Firefly” by Vitoria-based studio Ametz Games and “Darby Is Here Forever” by the Bilbao-based team Gaua Games.

One of the main objectives of GAME.EUS is to foster and retain local talent while boosting this sector in the Basque Country. The initiative, driven by the Álava Provincial Council and the Basque Government under the direction of the EUNEIZ Foundation, has placed Álava and the Basque Country on the map of the video game industry. It aims to turn this sector into a hub for attracting talent and generating wealth in the region. “We prioritize teams of Basque origin, who must have an advanced video game project to work on with various tools, with the ultimate goal of participating in Gamescom,” explains the director of GAME.EUS.

GAME.EUS seeks to professionalize small indie developer teams, equipping them with skills and tools in management, marketing, and communication to help them secure funding, support their growth, and create jobs. The program includes one-on-one mentoring by national and international industry experts to help teams gain a business perspective that maximizes their potential and business opportunities.

The director of GAME.EUS encouraged developers to visit the GAME.EUS stand and learn about the program, “which could open many future opportunities by providing training and personalized advice to take a qualitative leap in their professional trajectory.” Interested parties can pre-register through the campus website at www.game.eus.
