Mendizabala presents the vehicle with which he will participate this weekend in the VII edition of Euskelec

The team is made up of the students of the Specialization Course in maintenance and safety in hybrid and electric vehicle systems of the CIFP Mendizabala LHII, together with the teachers of the Automotive Department of the center. The 10 young people who have been working since the beginning of the course, overcoming all the challenges planned by the Euskelec organization, are committed to innovation in the design of the electric car that will be presented in this seventh edition. They are not willing to let themselves be snatched the first place they achieved in the previous edition held in San Mamés. “Based on the design of the previous year, different improvements have been made in the advanced manufacturing of the car» point from the Automotive Department of the center.

As a novelty, and as explained in the video, this morning also presented the simulator that has been developed from the vehicle with which the team won in the previous edition.

This competition gives students the opportunity to participate in a real project.  It promotes the training and promotion of technicians specialized in electric vehicles, as well as the use of new materials.

It also offers the possibility of performing a work between different cycles of the center. The project has involved students of Graphic Arts, Metallic Constructions, Mechanical Manufacturing, Image and Sound and Automotive and Bodywork.

PROGRAMME

In the VII edition of Euskelec, to be held this weekend in Vitoria-Gasteiz, is planned to participate a total of 24 teams, most of FP centers in the Basque Country, although they will also arrive from Cantabria, Valencia and the Canary Islands.  Saturday will be dedicated to receiving equipment, allocating boxes and verifying vehicles.  Sunday will start with the different tests of braking, acceleration and slalom, before at 13:00 hours the race begins or endurance test on the urban circuit.  The program will be completed with the award ceremony at 14:15 hours.

The Menditech team has also had the collaboration of numerous entities such as the Provincial Council of Araba, Vital Foundation, BIC Araba or the SPRI Group and companies such as Protubsa, Autocentro Armentia, Garajes García, Rodamientos Arizti, Go Gym, Fauser Motos, Pinturas Ibaigarriaga and Restaurante Izki, many of them present at the event held this morning at the facilities of the center.
