On 20 September 2024, the “UPV/EHU Entrepreneurship Network Meeting” was held in Bizkaia Aretoa, Bilbao. The objective of the event was to bring together the entire UPV/EHU entrepreneurial community. The event began with an institutional opening, followed by a round table on public aid for entrepreneurs in the Basque Country, where representatives of the Diputaciones of Bizkaia, Gipuzkoa and Álava participated. There were presentations on the Startups Law, as well as pitches of UPV/EHU spin-offs. Success stories of these spin-offs were also shared, concluding with a round table discussion with experts from the entrepreneurial ecosystem.

Álava was very well represented with the pitches of the projects of Iñigo Echevarria from AidTech Solutions and Zuriñe Eraña from Steamhairrenen. Finally, Sandra Benito, laboratory manager at i+Med told us how the cooperative’s trajectory has been since they started in a UPV/EHU laboratory until they have their own building in the Technological Park of Miñano. No doubt a very inspiring talk that we hear with great pride.

This event provided a key space for interaction between public institutions, entrepreneurs and experts, facilitating the connection and growth of the innovative and entrepreneurial ecosystem of UPV/EHU. We are already thinking about the next gathering!
