EKINTZAILE and HAZTEN+ grants by SPRI now open to boost innovative projects in the Basque Country
The Basque entrepreneurial ecosystem has new funding opportunities thanks to the opening of the EKINTZAILE and HAZTEN+ grants, programmes promoted by SPRI – Basque Business Development Agency, aimed at supporting the creation and growth of innovative and technology-based companies in the Basque Country.
These grants seek to strengthen the business fabric, facilitate the launch of new business initiatives and accelerate the growth of high-potential startups, contributing to the competitiveness of the territory.
EKINTZAILE: up to €30,000 for the creation of innovative companies
The EKINTZAILE programme is aimed at entrepreneurs and promoter teams who want to transform an innovative idea into a viable company. The grant supports key activities in the early stages of the project, such as defining the business model, developing the business plan or validating the market.
- Grant amount: up to €30,000 non-repayable funding
- Intensity: up to 70% of eligible costs, reaching up to 100% in certain cases
- Application deadline: usually open until December (in recent calls until 11 December)
This programme allows entrepreneurs to advance in the maturation of their project with the support of the Business Innovation Center (BIC) network, key agents within the Basque entrepreneurial ecosystem.

HAZTEN+: up to €100,000 to accelerate startup growth
The HAZTEN+ programme builds on Ekintzaile+ and is aimed at innovative or technology-based startups that have already started their activity and need resources to accelerate their growth.
- Grant amount: up to €100,000 per project
- Intensity: up to 70% of eligible costs
- Estimated application period: in recent calls open between June and July
These grants enable companies to strengthen teams, boost product or service development, improve their commercial strategy or tackle scaling and internationalisation processes.
